Teacher Education and Licensure Project (TEAL II)
HigherEd.org is working in association with the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and the Virginia Department of Higher Education on Phase II of the Teacher Education and Licensure project. Part 1 of Phase II involves creation of the Teacher Pipeline Application (TPA). which will allow schools to provide unit record data for each student beginning and progressing through a formal program, whether traditional or alternative, leading to teacher licensure. The TPA provides methods for entering student data (both manual and bulk upload) in order to track progress through enrolled programs.
In subsequent parts of the TEAL II project, HigherEd.org will be addressing the eventual outcomes of teacher education through development of online surveys which collect information to aid in the assessment of working conditions for teachers already in Virginia's classrooms. Additionally, we will create various tools for analysis and reporting.
